Via Vai was created in 1995 in Santa Barbara, California by Sabine and Claudio Pollero. Sabine has a degree in Window Dressing in her native Germany. Claudio was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he learned the trade of retailing and manufacturing of womens apparel early in life. His European heritage became apparent in his classics designs and throughout his career.

After many years of traveling and observing different cultures and countries around the world, Claudio and Sabine developed their own timeless styles that characterize their collections until today. They both gravitate towards soft, natural and easy to care fabrics that reflects their own Santa Barbara casual lifestyle.
